Executions in Kardze
The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) reports the execution of a Tibetan prisoner in the Kardze (Chin: Ganzi) area of eastern Tibet known traditionally to Tibetans as Kham), who, according to ICT, may be linked to the political crackdown following the protest in support of the Dalai Lama by nomad Runggye Adak in August. According to ICT, a Tibetan named Kunjam was executed on or around 14 September in Lithang. Although they stress that the circumstances are unclear, ICT believe that his execution was hasty and unexpected, and may have been linked to the authorities crackdown on political dissent in his local area through August and September.
