Second line to be built at Golmud
(Xinhua) The Chinese National Development and Reform Commission have approved the construction of a second line along the Xining-Golmud section of the Golmud-Lhasa railway. Based on existing emergency facilities, the second two-way line will run for 356 kilometres, and the project also includes the electrification of the whole line. The project is expected to take five years to complete.
