Chinese police arrest 13 escaping Tibetans
(Phayul; VOT) Chinese border police have arrested thirteen Tibetans who were attempting to travel to Nepal. The arrest took place around 16 June 2006 near Dingri in western Tibet. All those arrested were male and in their twenties and early thirties. Originally, there were 15 Tibetans in a vehicle when it was intercepted by the Chinese border police but two people managed to escape, according to reports from the Voice of Tibet (VOT) Tibetan radio service. There are no reports on the whereabouts of those arrested.
