(Xinhua) The schedule has been set for the first five trains to the TAR via the new Golmud-Lhasa railway, which will begin trial operations on 01 July, an official with the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company announced. Trains bound for Tibet will depart daily from Beijing, Chengdu and Xining. There will also be departures from Shanghai and Guangzhou every other day, according to Mao Baocheng, deputy general manager of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company. Tickets for the first trains are already sold out. Zhang Fuhua, an official with the Qinghai tourism administration, predicts an additional 800,000 travellers will visit Tibet with the operation of the railway.
