Entry cards to ease cross border trade
(Nepaleyes) The District Administration Office of Sankhuwasabha in Koshi, Nepal has started issuing entry cards to local people, which will allow them to travel over the border into TAR. The move comes after an agreement between the governments of China and Nepal to allow citizens of the two countries to enter each other's territory. The new provision is aimed at benefiting the residents of areas along the border, by easing trade at the local level. Nepali locals export lentils, sugar, rice, among others to Tibet while dry cottage cheese, herbs and other goods are imported into Nepal. The identity/entry card allows easy access for local Nepalis to the Tibetan market and Chief District Officer of Sankhuwasabha, Chiranjivi Adhikari says the distribution of admit cards will support the local economy and control crime.
